A Student's Perspective
I started in safety patrol in the fall of 2005 when I was in sixth grade. I remember all sixth graders started out as substitute guards for the seventh and eighth graders. The safety patrol officers were allowed to be five minutes late to class and would also be dismissed five minutes early so we could get to our corners before everyone else. I also signed up for Honor Guard which I had witnessed at the beginning of every assembly since I started at Peterson in 2000. It felt very important to start off each assembly by silencing students and bringing forward the American and Peterson School flag. Overall, I remember having a lot of fun in both Safety Patrol and Honor Guard, especially when Mr. Wojton was in charge.
